Our Gemstone Selection
This gemstone is of the garnet group. Almandine has the distinction of the most widely used garnet in the jewelers industry. This gemstone is among the most popular dark-red options.
We have a selection of many different sizes of natural and artificial pearls. A pearl is produced in the soft tissue of a living shelled mollusk. Our freshwater pearls are among the highest quality and affordable.
Historically Japan held the pearl market. In recent years China has taken it over. With Chinese Cristaria Plicata mussel being able to produce 50 low quality pearls at a time the market at one point was flooded with ‘rice krispie pearls.’ This has changed over the years. China shifted production to Hyripsis Cumingii mussel, producing less at much higher quality.
Contains a hardness of 2.5 – 4.5 on the Mohs scale. This varies widely due to the organic nature of pearl production.
One of the few gemstones that only occurs in one color. This intensity depends on how much iron is contained. This gem is commonly mistaken for emeralds due to the olive green color. This gemstone is easy to care for and considered an ideal summer stone. This stone is of august and carries the month well.
Contains a hardness of 6.5 – 7 on the Mohs scale.
This garnet group gemstone has a dark to light purplish red. Rhodolite is derived from the Greek word for ‘rose-like.’ This gemstone is usually faceted to make use of its natural shine.
Rohodolite Garnet gemstone has a color full history. Being popular in Egyptian culture for decorative and ceremonial purposes.
In jewelry design the Rohodolite garnet holds a versatility that is to be admired. This stone is able withstand everyday life, yet holds an elegant feel.
Cleaning this gemstone is simple. Wash with soapy water using a soft cloth to dry. Make sure to keep in mind the metal in which the stone is set.
Contains a hardness of 6.5 – 7 on the Mohs scale.
Characterized by fineness of grain and color. This stone can be translucent in thinner layers. This stone should not be fired.
This inexpensive stone is widely used in all aspects of jewelry from beads to pendants.
As lava cools gasses are released leaving a hollow cavity. This cavity is later filled with fluid rich in dissolved minerals. Minerals ‘settle’ on the sides at different rates forming colorful bands.

This gemstone has a small range in colors forest-green, light green and bluish-green. We photograph each of our gemstones so you know what color you are receiving. This gemstone has recently become popular. Some of the mining locations for this gemstone include Colorado, Madagascar and parts of Russia.
Contains a hardness of 6 – 6.5 on the Mohs scale.
With a lovely green color this stone can be confused with amazonite or jade.
Contains a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.
